The Price of Our Freedom ?

woman-forgiven-2     “In all this conflict with the powers of evil, there was ever before Christ the darkened shadow (Matthew 27:46) into which He Himself must enter . . . Ever before Him was the price which He must pay for the ransom of these souls.   As He witnessed the sufferings of the human race, He knew that He must bear a greater pain, mingled with mockery; that He must suffer the greatest humiliation . . .

“My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?   Why art Thou so far from helping Me, and from the words of My roaring (moaning)? . . . I am poured out like water, and all My bones are out of joint: My heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of My bowels.      My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and My tongue cleaveth to My jaws; and Thou hast brought Me into the dust of death. For dogs have compassed Me about: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed Me . . . yea, they pierced My hands and My feet. I may tell (count) all My bones . . .

They look and stare upon Me. They part My garments among them, and cast lots upon My vesture . . . All they that see Me laugh Me to scorn: they shoot out their lip, they shake their head, saying . . . He trusted on the LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) that He would deliver Him: let Him deliver, seeing He delighted in Him . . .      But be not Thou far from Me, O LORD, O My Strength (John 14:10-11), haste Thee to help Me . . .”   Psalm 22:1-19

14604589360ac88b4d     “He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth . . . He is brought as a Lamb to the slaughter; for the transgression* (rebellion, apostasy) of My people was He stricken. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise* (to crush, to crumble, to break in pieces) Him; He hath put Him to grief* (rubbed, worn, make sick, grieved, put to pain, made to be sorry) . . .

When Thou shalt make His soul an offering for sin . . . for though He were a Son, yet learned He obedience by the things which He suffered (Hebrews 5:8) . . . He shall see His seed (offspring), and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. Yea, He shall see the travail of His soul, and shall be satisfied . . . for He shall bear their (our) iniquities !”   Isaiah 53:7-11

When He raised Lazarus from the dead, He knew that for that life alone He must pay the ransom on the cross of Calvary.   Every rescue made was to cause Him the deepest humiliation. He was to taste death for every man. . . !”

– Youth’s Instructor, December 29, 1898

“For in that He died, He died unto sin once (Daniel 9:24), but in that He liveth, He liveth unto God . . . That He might be the Firstborn (First Begotten) among many brethren . . . !”     Romans 6:10-11 & 8:29

“Man is poisoned by sin; but a Remedy has been provided for the fallen race in the Lamb of God that taketh away the sin of the whole world!   Every hope that we have of Salvation (rescue, deliverance, freedom, healing and restoration) outside of Christ is a vain hope.

We cannot dishonor our Saviour more than by doubting that He will save us. Whatever may have been our life of transgression (rebellion and apostasy), however deep may be the stain of our sin, there is One Who is able* (full of power) to save to the uttermost all that come unto God by Him.” ref: Hebrews 7:25

It is Finished (paid in full) !– Signs of the Times, March 10, 1890

“Jesus knows the circumstances of every soul. The greater the sinner’s guilt, the more he needs the Saviour. His heart of divine love and sympathy is drawn out most of all for the one who is the most hopelessly entangled in the snares of the enemy. With His own blood He (Christ) has signed the emancipation papers of the race.” – Ministry of Healing, p.89-90

“Jesus is the remedy for sin. We may have intellect, but human intelligence can devise no way of Salvation (no way of cleansing or freedom); we may have earthly possessions, but that will not provide a ransom for the sin of our soul.   Salvation (deliverance, freedom, rescue, healing, and restoration) is the gift of God through Christ, and the Promise is, “Whosoever believeth on Him shall not perish, but have eternal Life (is no longer under the dominion of sin and death, but has the liberty of the sons and daughters begotten of God) !”      For God hath sworn, and He cannot lie . . . !

It is not enough to have a nominal faith. We must have faith that will appropriate the Life-giving power to our souls. We suffer great loss because we do not exercise simple, living faith in Christ. We should be able to say, “He is my Saviour (personally); He died for me; I look to Him as my complete Saviour and I live !”

– Signs of the Times, March 10, 1890
“For God is not a man, that He should lie; neither the son of man, that He should repent (change His mind). For hath He said, and shall He not do it? . . . or hath He spoken, and shall He not make it good ?”     Numbers 23:19

“And faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God . . . as it is written, The just* (justified, made innocent, holy, perfect and righteous) shall live by faith !” Romans 1:17, Habakkuk 2:4, Galatians 3:11 & Hebrews 10:38

“God does not ask you to feel that Jesus is your Saviour, but to believe that He died for you (as your Substitute and Surety), and that His blood now (Today) cleanseth you from all sin. You have been bitten by the serpent, and as the serpent was lifted up in the wilderness that the dying might look and live, so Christ was lifted up, that whosoever believeth in Him (the spoken Word of God – Isaiah 52:1-3) should not perish, but have eternal Life !

Moses serpent 3     Saving faith is simplicity itself. You must cry no more; you must cease to hang down your head as a bulrush. Look to the uplifted Saviour (John 3:14-15 and Isaiah 45:22-25), and, however grievous may have been your sins, believe that He saves you. All the remedies and medicines of the world would have failed to cure one soul who had been bitten by the venomous serpent; but God had provided a remedy that could not fail. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”      Be not among the number to whom the Saviour said, “Ye will not come unto me that ye might have Life.” Oh, how He longed to save them; for while we were yet sinners (not waiting for us to make ourselves good), Christ died unto sin for us !
Take the Word of Jesus (John 14:10-11 and 6:63) as more sure and valuable than any word that can come from the human agent. Thank God with your whole heart and soul and voice that you are barricaded with the rich promises of His infallible Word, so that the wicked one shall not touch you. God will give you the Holy Spirit, even though it may seem to you that it is too good to be true. “What shall we then say to these things?   If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not His Own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give* us all things?” Romans 8:31-32

– The Bible Echo, July 2, 1894
“Who shall lay any thing to the charges of God’s elect?   For it is God that justifieth*. . . who is he that condemneth?   It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, Who is even at the right hand of God, and Who also maketh intercession for us !”   Romans 8:33-34

“So likewise reckon (count) ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord (Sovereign King) !”   Romans 6:11

And “being therefore justified* by faith (present tense – declared, rendered just, innocent, holy and righteous) . . . Today, if ye will only hear My Voice . . . we now have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ !”  Romans 5:1 ref: John 14:27-28 and Ephesians 2:13-14

“For God commendeth (demonstrated) His great love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us . . . Much more then, being now justified* by His blood (Life – Leviticus 17:10-11 & Hebrews 10:10-17), we shall be saved from wrath through Him . . . !”   Romans 5:1-9

empty-tomb (2)     “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if One died for all, then were all dead. And in that He died for all, that they which [now] live [by faith] should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto Him which died for them, and rose again !”   II Corinthians 5:14-15

“That the Life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh !”
II Corinthians 4:10-11

“We are to take God at His Word. The experience that comes through living (active) faith is the experience that God wants every one of us to have. We should reach out the hand of faith, and grasp the Arm of Infinite power . . . The simplest prayer that is put up in faith is acceptable to heaven. “For (but) without faith it is impossible to please Him . . . for he that cometh to God must believe that He Is (I Am), and that He is (I Am) a Rewarder of all those that seek Him . . .”   Hebrews 11:6 ref: Deuteronomy 4:29-33

The humblest soul that looks up to Christ in faith is connected with the God (Elohim – Mighty One) of the universe . . .“Who upholds all things by the Word of His power !” We may walk (live) in the Light (the glory, the victory, the assurance streaming from the throne of Almighty God) as Christ is in the Light . . . !”   I John 1:7 and Psalm 44:3 and 89:15
