Calvary – the Pardon & Victory Assured . . . !

This is His Name     “For if, when we were enemies, we were Reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more now, being therefore Reconciled, we shall be saved (delivered, set free & healed) by His Life !”     Romans 5:10

The LORD (Jehovah, Yehuwah) would have His people sound (strong) in the faith — not ignorant of the great Salvation so abundantly provided for them. They are not to look forward, thinking that at some future time a great work is to be done for them; for the work is now complete !

For “thus saith the LORD, In an accepted time* have I heard thee, and in a Day of Salvation have I helped thee . . . . That Thou mayest say to the prisoners, Go forth ! and to them that are in darkness, Shew yourselves . . . !”     Isaiah 49:8-9

Salvation = Deliverance, to Set Free, Rescue, Healing, and Restore whole !

“For He saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of Salvation have I succoured thee . . . Behold, now is the accepted time* Behold, now is the day of Salvation !”    II Corinthians 6:1-2, Isaiah 49:8-10

The believer is not called upon to make his peace with God; he never has nor ever can do this. He is to accept Christ as his Peace, for with Christ is God and Peace (Shalom) . . . . “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him !”     II Corinthians 5:21

“And this is the name whereby He shall be called . . . Wonderful, Counsellor, the Mighty God (Elohim), The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace . . . . THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS . . . !”     Isaiah 9:6 & Jeremiah 23:5-6

Christ made an end of sin, bearing it’s heavy curse (for transgression) in His own body on the tree, and He hath taken away the curse from all those who believe in Him as a personal Saviour . . . . “Behold, I set before you this day a Blessing, and a curse . . . . a Blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way (path) which I command you this day, to follow after other gods, which ye have not known . . . !”     Deuteronomy 11:26-28

“For the wages of sin (transgression of God’s law) is death . . . But the gift of God is Eternal Life . . . and this Life is in His Son . . . Jesus Christ our Lord !”     Romans 6:23 & I John 5:11

“For Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made accursed for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree . . . !”     Galatians 3:13-14

He makes an end of the controlling power of sin in the heart, and the life and character of the believer testify to the genuine character of the Grace of Christ !

Grace (G5485) = the Divine Influence (Spirit) upon the heart, and It’s reflection as seen in the life !

To those that ask Him . . . Ask and ye shall receive . . . pressed down and shaken together ! . . . Jesus imparts the Holy Spirit; for it is necessary that every believer should be delivered from pollution, as well as from the curse and condemnation of the law.    ref: Matthew 7:7, Luke 6:38 & 11:9-13

For He came to set the captives free . . . and if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed !” Luke 4:18-19 & John 8:36

Through the work of the Holy Spirit, the sanctification of the Truth . . . Thy Word is Truth (Verity, verily So !) . . . and the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit and they are Life ! . . . the believer becomes fitted for the courts of heaven; for Christ works within us, and His righteousness is upon us. Without this no soul will be entitled to heaven. We would not enjoy heaven unless qualified for its holy atmosphere by the influence of the Spirit and the righteousness of Christ.

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the gentiles (unbelieving heathen) . . . which is Christ in you, the Hope of glory !”                           Colossians 1:27-29

In order to be candidates for heaven we must meet the requirement of the law (God’s character): “Thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself !” Luke 10:27 . . . And on these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets . . . !” Matthew 22:37-40

We can do this only as we grasp by faith the righteousness of Christ. “For whom He did foreknow, He also did predestinate (ordain) to be conformed to the Image of His Son, that He might be the Firstborn among many brethren” . . . .

Therefore, “Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God !”     Romans 8:29 & 12:2

“For this is the will of God, even your Sanctification . . . . sanctify them through Thy Truth, Thy Word is Truth (Verity) . . . !”     I Thessalonians 4:3 & John 17:17

“I delight to do Thy will, O God, Yea, Thy law is within my heart . . . written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the Living God; not in tables of stone, but in the fleshy tables of the heart . . . !”     Psalm 40:8 & II Corinthians 3:3

Note:     for every Command is a Promise. And all the promises of God in Him are Yea, and in Him, Amen! For He is both the Author and the Finisher of our faith !                        ref: II Corinthians 1:20 & Hebrews 12:2

Quote – “The creative energy that called the worlds into existence is in the Word of God. This Word imparts power; it begets Life. Every command is a Promise; accepted by the will, received into the soul, it brings with it the Life of the Infinite One. It transforms the nature and re-creates the soul in the image of God. And the Life thus imparted is in like manner sustained. ‘By every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God . . . !”     – Education p.126

By beholding Jesus we receive a Living, expanding principle in the heart, and the Holy Spirit carries on the work, and the believer advances from grace to Grace, from strength to Strength, from character to Character. He conforms to the image of Christ, until in spiritual growth he attains unto the measure of the full stature in Christ Jesus . . . .

“Till we all come in the unity of the faith (of Jesus), and of the knowledge (knowing) of the Son of God . . . which is Life Eternal ! . . . unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ  !”     Ephesians 4:13 & John 17:3

Thus Christ makes an end of the curse of sin, and sets the believing soul free from its (sin’s) action and effect.

Christ alone is able to do this, for “in all things it behoved Him to be made like unto His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make Reconciliation (atonement) for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself hath suffered being tempted, He is able to succour them that are tempted !”      Hebrews 2:17-18

Atonement = to cover and cancel a debt, to expiate, appease, cleanse, disannul, forgive (give in exchange for), to pardon, purge, exchange, restoration

Reconciliation means that every barrier between the soul and God is removed, and that the sinner realizes what the pardoning love of God means. By reason of the sacrifice (Life and death) made by Christ for fallen men, God can justly pardon the transgressor who accepts the merits (worthiness) of Christ.

“Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation (atoning victim, satisfaction for, to appease, to purify, the lid of the ark in the temple, the mercy seat, to make complete) through faith in His blood (Life) . . . To declare, I say, at this time His Righteousness: that He might be Just, and the Justifier of him that believeth in Jesus !”     Romans 3:24-26

Christ was the channel through which the mercy, love, and righteousness might flow from the heart of God to the heart of the sinner. “He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” I John 1:9

In the prophecy of Daniel it was recorded of Christ that He shall “make Reconciliation for iniquity, and . . . bring in everlasting Righteousness” (Daniel 9:24). Every soul may say: “By His perfect obedience He has satisfied the claims of the law, and my only hope is found in looking to Him as my Substitute and Surety (Pledge of righteousness), Who obeyed the law perfectly for me.

“For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son (daily dying to self, as well as the final victory over sin won upon Calvary), much more now, being Reconciled, we shall be saved (from transgression and sin) by His Life . . . !”    Romans 5:10

“For by one man’s disobedience (Adam’s) many (all together) were made sinners, so by the obedience of One (Christ Jesus) shall many be made righteous !”     Romans 5:12,19

“For the law of the Spirit and Life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death (in Adam). For what the law could not do, in that (because) it was weak through the flesh . . . God, sending His Own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and (in exchange) for sin, condemned sin in the flesh !

So that the righteousness of the law
. . . which is holy, just and good ! . . . might be filled full in us, who walk (live) not after (by) the flesh, but by the Spirit !”     Romans 8:2-4

“For it is not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, saith the LORD of hosts. . . !”   Zechariah 4:6

By faith in His merits (value, worthiness) I am free from the condemnation of the law . . . “For if the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed !”     John 8:36

He clothes me with His righteousness, which answers all the demands of the law. I am now complete in Him Who brings in everlasting Righteousness. He presents me to God in the spotless garment of which no thread was woven by any human agent. All is of Christ, and all the glory, honor, and majesty are to be given to the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sins of the world.”   John 1:29

Many think that they must wait for a special impulse in order that they may come to Christ; but it is necessary only to come in sincerity of purpose, deciding to accept the offers of mercy and Grace that have been extended to us !

We are to say, “Christ died to save (deliver, rescue, set me free and heal) me. The LORD’s desire is that I should be saved, and I will come to Jesus just as I am without delay. I will venture (step out in faith) upon the Promise.

As Christ draws me, I will respond. The apostle says, “With the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession (profession, to speak aloud) is made unto Salvation !” Romans 10:9-13

No one can believe with the heart unto righteousness, and obtain justification by faith, while continuing the practice of those things which the Word of God forbids . . . and which cost the Life of His Only Begotten Son, or while neglecting any known duty.
