The Faith that Works ?

Bible path to Life     “Blessed be the God (Elohim – Almighty One) and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a Living hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ (Yehushua ha Moshiac) from the dead . . . Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us ! . . .

By the washing (baptism) of re-generation,* and renewing of the Holy Spirit; which He shed (poured forth) on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour ! . . .Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto Salvation (deliverance, freedom, health and liberty) ready to be revealed in the last time . . . !”   I Peter 1:3-5 & Titus 3:5-6

Faith that Works –

“And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained Promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness they were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.

Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection . . . !”   Hebrews 11:32-34 & ref: Revelation 20:4-6 and I Thessalonians 4:13-18

Faith is trusting God — believing that He loves us and knows best what is for our good. Thus, instead of our own, it leads us to choose His way. In place of our ignorance, it accepts His wisdom; in place of our weakness, His strength; in place of our sinfulness, His righteousness. Our lives, ourselves, are already His; faith acknowledges His ownership and accepts its Blessing.

That the Blessing of Abraham might come on the gentiles through Jesus Christ (Yehushua ha Moshaic); that we might receive the Promise of the Spirit through faith . . . !”   Galatians 3:14

Truth, uprightness, purity, have been pointed out as secrets of life’s success. It is faith that puts us in possession of these principles.Every good impulse or aspiration is the gift of God; faith receives from God the Life that alone can produce true growth and efficiency.     “And this is the record (evidence) that God hath given to us Eternal Life, and this Life is in His Son !”     I John 5:11

How to exercise faith should be made very plain. To every Promise of God there are conditions. If we are willing to do His will, all His strength is ours. Whatever gift He promises is in the Promise itself. For “The Seed is the Word of God” (Luke 8:11). As surely as the oak is in the acorn, so surely is the Gift of God in His Promise. If we receive the Promise, we have the Gift !

Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission (pardon, deliverance, forgiveness) of sins, and ye shall receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. For the Promise is unto you and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call . . . !”     Acts 2:38-39 & ref: Titus 3:4-6

Faith that enables us to receive God’s gifts is itself a gift, of which some measure is imparted to every human being. It grows as exercised in appropriating the Word of God . . . For the Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit and they are Life ! . . .      In order to strengthen faith, we must often bring it in contact with the Word. In the study of the Bible the student should be led to see the power of God’s Word. In the creation, “He spake, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.” He “calleth those things which be not as though they were” (Psalm 33:6-9; Romans 4:17); for when He calls them, they are verily are !”
